Bogotá is the new epicenter in Latin America for the rendering of IT services: it has about 55% of the country’s digital animation and video games companies.
Members of Invest in Bogota´s investment promotion team will be this week in Sao Paulo, Brazil, showing investment opportunities in the IT sector to directives and decision makers of big technology and communication Brazilian enterprises. Sao Paulo is a target market city for this sector, due to the traditional industry of technology services it has.
Adriana Suárez, Invest in Bogota Executive Director, explains: “The IT industry is a priority for the promotion of investment in Bogotá, due to its high innovation component and transference of knowledge and technology”.
Suárez continues: “Bogotá is the new epicenter in Latin America for the rendering of IT services. The IT service industry in Bogotá has developed complete services for the remote management of infrastructure, development and maintenance of software applications for companies of diverse industries in the last 20 years, thanks to the abundant human resource, world class infrastructure, and the right environment for this type of operations. Consequently, well-known local and multinational companies specialized in the rendering of IT services have chosen Bogotá as the offshore platform to service international markets. According to the Colombian Videogames Developers Association (IGDA), Bogotá has about 55% of the country’s digital animation and video games companies”.
The country´s capital offers interesting opportunities to establish operations for this sector due to its potential for scalability, strategic location, human resource and infrastructure for IT. The city already has multinational companies as important as Dacartec, Everis, Globant, Indra, Oesía, Softtek, TCS and Unisys, among others.
