Since 2014, Colombia has been developing the energy transition route that involved the creation of a new regulatory framework on energy issues to stimulate the leap to clean energy. Meanwhile, Bogotá-Cundinamarca stands out in the region as a prime location for data centers, due to the availability of qualified personnel, the city’s emphasis on services, the available infrastructure and a highly competitive energy price.
Along with the legal team of Abusaid & Gomez Asociados, we prepared the following ABC “INSTALLATION AND INCENTIVES FOR DATA CENTERS IN GREAT BOGOTA” which provides a brief map on the regulatory framework, funding sources, environmental requirements, access to connections, distributed energy and the development of new technologies, including hydrogen, which allows Bogota to be the hub for the operation of Data Centers in Latin America.
