Bogota Hosts Another Edition of the Leaders for Education Summit

On September 18 and 19, the sixth version of the most important educational event in the country will take place in Bogota. The main theme for this year’s event is education as the opportunity that makes everything possible, and it will feature special guests from Chile and Canada.

Cumbre Líderes por la Educación

The Leaders for Education Summit seeks to place education in the public spotlight to promote it as a critical factor for transforming the country in terms of democracy, economic development, and peace-building. These topics will be discussed by experts from the public and private sectors who, from their experience, will take on the challenge of presenting the role of education in the country’s development, how to educate in this digital age, and the role education plays in the comprehensive rural development that the country needs, among others.

Education is a crucial issue for developing Bogota’s productivity, which can help make it a much more competitive and qualified city. It also helps increase workforce efficiency in the country’s labor markets, which helps increase foreign investment in the country.

The event will be held at the Agora Bogota convention center and will include the participation of over 60 national and international guest panelists and speakers.

Some of the talks or conferences of the two-day program are: “Environment, Development and Europlasticity,” by Julia Harper, a neuroplasticity expert and the founder of Therapeeds Family Center; “The Effects of Armed Conflict on Children Development,” by Neil Boothby, psychologist and former advisor to the U.S. government for treating children who survived war; and “Canada and Postsecondary Education,” by Creso Sá, professor at the University of Toronto and director of the Centre for the Study of Canadian and International Higher Education.
