The global event that connects the most innovative startups with investors and companies returns on June 20 to the Colombian capital at pavilion 4 of the Corferias convention center. The South Summit Pacific Alliance will feature talks by expert international speakers who will discuss the region’s growth and increasing internationalization thanks to entrepreneurship, as well as networking opportunities with the business world’s top personalities.
Bogota has become one of the leading destinations for doing business in Latin America and ranked third in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2019 report. Likewise, it is increasingly being selected by the world’s most important multinationals to set up their operations. Between 2016 and 2018, for example, foreign direct investment was responsible for the creation of 23,112 new jobs in the capital city. South Summit chose Colombia as the venue for its meeting for the second time thanks to its positive economic outlook.
The event will feature more than 3,000 attendees, 80 leaders, 100 investors, 500 startups and thousands of opportunities in a single day. Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who started as an assistant in a Madrid studio and ended up in international fashion capitals such as Paris, Milan and New York, and Juan José Güemes, president of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, are just two of the international speakers coming to the Summit.
The event will focus on the generation of networking spaces and business opportunities among three main groups: startups that operate in Latin America and with the Pacific Alliance, global companies that specialize in innovation, and investors looking for new prospects.
