Walk21, the international foundation for the promotion of walking as a form of transport, arrives to Bogota
Bogota is the world venue for edition number 19 of Walk21. Between October 15 and 19, 2018, residents of the capital will be witness to the first Latin American edition of the international platform. This is an event that seeks to stimulate healthy habits in cities to transform the culture of public space. The principal venue of the city will be the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater.
More than 150 speakers will take part. The Mayor of Bogota, Enrique Peñalosa and the founder of the initiative, Jim Walker, will participate and will center their conversations on the importance of pedestrians in cities with constant movement like Bogota. Likewise, they will talk about topics such as sustainability, competitivity, equity, and citizen participation.
The central focus of the event is to demonstrate to citizens that it is possible to achieve greater wellbeing through good habits and the construction of culture in the city.
