Bogotá Music Market: The Meeting Place for the Music Business
Bogotá Music Market (BOmm), held since 2013, is an event created by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB, for the Spanish acronym) as part of its program to support the creative and cultural industries.
This sector’s economic activity is the creation, production, promotion and distribution of goods and services of cultural and visual content. It is comprised of more than 23,300 companies registered with the CCB, out of which 93% are located in Bogotá. This demonstrates that we are increasingly closer to our aim of positioning Bogotá as the continent’s epicenter of the music business by 2025.
Therefore, BOmm has become the perfect platform for musicians, composers, producers, agencies, businesspeople, brands, record labels and editors to obtain business opportunities and to learn about the latest trends in the music industry.
This year, it will be held in the Salitre Business Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce on September 12, 13, 14 and 15. These four days are divided into:
BOmm Talks: An academic space for conferences given by high-profile experts with a long career in the music industry.
Showcases: Live shows of artists and bands selected through a previously held competition in which 1,141 proposals were considered.
Business Matchmaking: Known as speed networking, where participants can have business meetings and increase their contacts.
BOmm Labs: The space for workshops that teach topics including music journalism, crowdfunding and management.
Some of the bands and artists who were selected to play live are: Adriana Lucía, Babalú Quinteto, Canalón de Timbiquí, Bazurto All Stars, Duina del Mar and Electric Mistakes.
