Bogota’s delegation arrives in South Korea in search of investment opportunities in the city’s infrastructure

  • Juan Carlos Caiza, Colombian Ambassador to Korea; Claudia López, Mayor of Bogotá, Luz Amparo Medina from the International Relations Department of the Office of the Mayor of Bogotá, Leonidas Narváez, CEO Metro Bogotá, Isabella Muñoz, Excecutive Director of Invest in Bogota, and Shirley Vega, Director of Procolombia in Korea, make up the delegation that is in Seoul in the midst of a multi-sector campaign that seeks to attract foreign direct investment for the Colombian capital.
  • Mobility infrastructure projects will be the protagonists of the campaign that will bring together more than 50 key players in the Korean market in Seoul for a breakfast on Wednesday, October 12.

Korea, October 11, 2022. Starting today, the South Korean capital and close to 50 companies and organizations from this country will receive the Colombian delegation to learn about the potential and opportunities for investment in infrastructure and mobility projects in Bogota, its capital city.

To promote investment in Bogota, the group of entities leading the multi-sector campaign in the Asian country has convened a breakfast meeting with investors with great potential and interest in city infrastructure projects, with a special focus on mobility projects.

The Colombian delegation is made up of Procolombia, the Mayor’s Office of Bogota; its entity for the promotion of investment in the city, Invest in Bogota; the Directorate of International Relations; Metro de Bogota and Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional.

South Korea is an important investment market for Bogota-Region, mainly in the technology, innovation, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and large conglomerates interested in investing in city infrastructure projects, so this is a great opportunity to strengthen trade relations between the two countries.

The South Korean capital is also a pioneer in innovation industrial parks that have leveraged the industry. Therefore, it is also expected to adopt good practices that can be implemented in the construction of the Science, Technology and Innovation District of Bogota, which seeks to strengthen the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as position Bogota-Region as a hub of innovation and development in the international arena.
