Productivity and remote working solutions to cope with the lockdown
Discover four applications and services that help companies, entrepreneurs and freelancers to stay productive while they develop remote working models during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Amid the lockdown ordered by the Colombian government to mitigate Covid-19 infections in the country, companies of all sizes have had to implement remote working models and adopt tools that will enable them to manage their employees’ time more efficiently.
As part of the initiative put forward by Bogota’s Entrepreneurship Roundtable (formed by Invest in Bogota, the Secretariat of Economic Development, Andi del Futuro, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Bictia, Connect Bogota, Endeavor and Wayra) that looks for startups that are making a contribution to the social and economic fabric during this emergency, four tools were identified that enable entrepreneurs to use technology as an ally in increasing productivity while taking care of their employees’ wellbeing.
8Bit Cloud: this cloud computing solutions company helps companies to keep working remotely from any location and at any time, through solutions that include cloud desktops and cloud PBX. All these solutions are managed by 8BitCloud in a way that enables clients to relax and continue with their normal workflow. Furthermore, as explained by Jaime Rojas, the company’s director and founder, “We are going to do our bit during this crisis by not charging implementation and administration fees for the next three months, only the consumption that arises in terms of virtual infrastructure.”
Cloudwork: this company specializes in technology and artificial intelligence for productivity management in remote working. CloudWork has over a decade’s experience in implementing working arrangements of this type and is able to help companies that have not put a remote working contingency plan in place.
Alexandra Gamarra, the company’s chief sales officer, underlines the benefits of putting such strategies in place and notes that with currently available technology these working models can be hugely successful for companies. “We want companies to sign up, to shed the fear of implementing remote working, and to trust in their teams,” she adds.
Servinformación: this data company provides smart localization, data intelligence and process transformation services. It currently offers free training in the GSuite collaborative tool that has already had an impact on over 1000 people. “We are providing virtual training for all the entrepreneurs, all the home users and all the people who want to take part in understanding how collaborative work operates, how these tools work and what we can do with them, and how to take full advantage of them,” explains Luis Manuel Faviani, Servinformación’s commercial vice-president.
Productividapp: by employing technology, this platform enables work accident rates to be reduced among staff that operate in the field. As explained by the company’s spokesperson, Iván Mercado, in the face of the current situation they have made a free platform available so that companies can sign up and provide constant support to their employees, “through a simple self-evaluation, an intelligent form, that enables them to find out their employees’ health status in real time, and in doing so be able to take preventative measures efficiently, and also generate self-care, prevention-focused tasks automatically.”
