Seguridad alimentaria

El sector de alimentos en Colombia tiene un alto potencial de desarrollo, se estima que tenga un crecimiento de 23 % aproximadamente entre 2019 y 2024.

  • El 6% del PIB de Colombia en 2023 provenía de actividades de agroindustria, posicionadores como la cuarta actividad con mayor participación dentro del PIB nacional (DANE, 2024). 
  • Se estima que el sector de alimentos y bebidas tendrá ventas anuales por más de USD 26.500 millones en 2024. Por su parte, la demanda de la industria crecerá un 4% anual en los próximos 5 años.  
  • Bogotá se posiciona como el primer mercado y centro de distribución de alimentos y bebidas del país (DANE, 2024). 
  • Bogotá región absorbe el 43 % de las ventas de esta industria en el país, además es domicilio de 40 de las 100 principales empresas del sector (La república, 2024).
