The Board of Directors of Invest in Bogotá unanimously reaffirmed Carlos Alberto Suárez Reyes as Executive Director of the investment promotion agency, consolidating the leadership of a professional with more than 20 years of experience in administrative, financial and strategic management of high-impact projects.
Suárez Reyes holds an Industrial Engineering degree and an MBA from Universidad de Los Andes, and has received training from world-class institutions including the Indian Institute of Management (India), Tulane University (USA), the London School of Economics (UK), and Columbia University (USA). His career includes designing supply plans, transforming business models, and implementing sustainability strategies in key economic sectors.
He joined Invest in Bogotá in May 2023 as Administrative and Financial Manager and, since February 2025, served as interim Executive Director. Under his leadership, the agency’s core mission has been to facilitate foreign direct investment, attract global meetings and events, and coordinate the high-impact entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in the region.
“The challenge is to continue positioning strategic projects such as the Science, Technology and Innovation Campus and Bogotá Airport City, among others, which will help maintain Bogotá Region as the preferred destination for doing business in Latin America — promoting responsible investments that strengthen competitiveness, create quality jobs, and contribute to a sustainable future,” he stated.
With this reaffirmation, Invest in Bogotá will continue developing strategies to attract international capital, boost major events, and consolidate the innovation, science, and technology ecosystem. Under the leadership of Carlos Alberto Suárez, the agency will strengthen its role as a strategic platform to connect Bogotá with the world and generate more economic growth opportunities for the city and the region.
