Bogotá Strengthens Its Leadership in Global Services Through Partnership Between Invest in Bogotá and Five Multinational Companies

Fecha: 3 June, 2026

Invest in Bogotá, in partnership with Adidas, DHL, Medtronic, Sanofi, and Zimmer Biomet, has launched Smart Talent, a digital series designed to showcase the human talent driving strategic operations for Latin American and global markets from Bogotá.

The initiative is part of Crece GBS, a strategy led by Invest in Bogotá in collaboration with the Bogotá District Secretariat of Economic Development and Atenea, the District Agency for Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The program aims to strengthen Bogotá’s position as one of Latin America’s leading hubs for knowledge-based services.

Through six audiovisual episodes to be broadcast on the social media channels of Invest in Bogotá, participating companies, and institutional partners, Smart Talent will share the stories of professionals working in Shared Services Centers (SSCs) and Global Business Services (GBS) operations established in Bogotá. The series highlights how high-value processes in areas such as finance, technology, human resources, data analytics, procurement, automation, and international market support are managed from the Colombian capital.

Shared Services Centers and Global Business Services operations centralize strategic and support functions—including finance, human resources, technology, procurement, data analytics, and customer service—to provide services to multiple business units, countries, or regions from a single location.

“Smart Talent was created to tell a story that often goes unseen: the story of the talent that makes global operations possible from Bogotá. Behind every Shared Services Center are thousands of professionals building global capabilities, driving innovation, and strengthening our city’s competitiveness,” said Isis Durán, Executive Director of Invest in Bogotá.

Today, Colombia ranks third in Latin America in market participation within the shared services, global business services, and outsourcing industry. Bogotá is home to more than 60% of the companies operating in these sectors in the country, consolidating its position as Colombia’s leading destination for this type of operation. The city also hosts more than 70 Shared Services Centers.

The strength of Bogotá’s ecosystem is supported by a deep and diverse talent pool. The city accounts for nearly 39% of Colombia’s graduates in business administration, economics, and related disciplines, more than 31% of the country’s STEM talent, and approximately 976,000 bilingual professionals. These attributes have positioned Bogotá as a regional platform for the delivery of globally integrated corporate services.

The participating companies represent some of the most prominent examples of global operations established in Bogotá. From the city, they provide services to multiple international markets, generate high-quality employment, promote knowledge transfer, and strengthen specialized capabilities in sectors such as healthcare, logistics, technology, and consumer goods.

Smart Talent also seeks to connect younger generations with the professional opportunities offered by one of the region’s fastest-growing industries. According to estimates from the Crece GBS strategy, sectors such as SSCs/GBS, technology, and business process outsourcing are expected to generate demand for more than 54,500 positions in the coming years, many of them requiring bilingual and specialized talent. As a result, the initiative will also engage with some of the city’s leading universities.

“We want more people to know that strategic processes for global companies are managed from Bogotá and that real opportunities for professional growth exist here in knowledge-intensive industries. Talent is our city’s greatest asset and one of the key factors companies value when deciding to invest and expand in Bogotá,” added the Executive Director of Invest in Bogotá.

The first episode of Smart Talent will premiere on Wednesday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. through Invest in Bogotá’s LinkedIn and YouTube channels. New episodes will be released every Wednesday at the same time through July 8.
