Connecting international capital with strategic sectors
Within the framework of the Americas Business Matchmaking Forum 2026, organized by ProColombia, Bogotá reaffirms its role as one of the leading investment destinations in Latin America through a strategic agenda supported by Invest in Bogotá and key partners.
As part of this participation, the investment promotion agency joined the opening event on Monday, which included representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; the Bogotá Mayor’s Office; the Secretariat of Economic Development; the Bogotá Tourism Office; and the leadership of ProColombia.
During the event—featuring an emotional performance by renowned singer Andrés Cepeda—the importance of the Bogotá region as the main recipient of venture capital in Colombia was highlighted, along with its dynamic and growing business ecosystem, highly qualified human talent, and its connectivity and strategic location within the region, which are key attributes of the territory.
The Americas Business Matchmaking Forum 2026 begins this Tuesday
The forum, taking place on April 14 and 15 at Corferias, has confirmed the participation of 81 investor companies from sectors such as energy, venture capital, agribusiness, and infrastructure, as well as 87 companies from the tourism sector.
This is a business platform that connects Colombian companies with international buyers, investors, and strategic partners through a pre-scheduled one-on-one meeting agenda based on business profiles and offerings. It also provides a concrete opportunity to explore new markets, open export channels, attract investment, and position companies globally.
“An event like the Americas Business Matchmaking Forum, which brings thousands of visitors to the city, allows us to showcase business opportunities for both foreign investment and the meetings industry. The alliance between ProColombia and Invest in Bogotá enables us to coordinate and leverage these spaces to continue positioning Bogotá as a key destination for investment and for the meetings industry at both regional and global levels,” said Juliana Gómez Peláez, Executive Director of Invest in Bogotá.
The last three national matchmaking forums (Barranquilla 2023, Cartagena 2024, and Cali 2025) brought together between 1,200 and 1,700 exporters and up to 798 international buyers per edition, generating immediate (spot) sales between USD 22 million and USD 25.3 million, as well as business expectations ranging from USD 215 million to USD 374.6 million.
The event is expected to gather more than 4,800 national and international business participants and could generate a total economic impact of USD 5,292,078 for the city. This includes an average daily expenditure of USD 648 for international attendees and USD 326.60 for national attendees, with an average stay of 3.62 days.
The participation of Invest in Bogotá in the Americas Business Matchmaking Forum 2026 reaffirms its commitment to attracting high-impact investment through a coordinated, sector-focused, and results-driven strategy that connects Bogotá with major global capital flows.
